Naples Flag Football (NFFL) is the premier youth flag football program for boys and girls age 5 to 14 in Collier County. NFFL provides an exciting way to enjoy America's favorite sport and advance youth physical fitness in a non-contact, recreational, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship. Located in the Naples, Florida.
NFFL's focus is on having a fun playing experience allowing for players to play multiple positions. Healthy competition is promoted, rather than the high-pressure, “win-at-all-costs” mentality prevalent in some youth sports leagues today.
Being a community based recreational league, children of all sizes, athletic abilities, and experience are encouraged to participate in the action. Because flag football is non-contact, you don’t have to be the biggest, fastest or most skilled kid to play a big role on a flag football team.
We know kids want to play on teams with their friends, so we do our best to accommodate “buddy requests”, as well as teaming up kids from the same school to help foster and develop new friendships.
§ Positive Coaching - This builds a positive team spirit. We train coaches to make the extra effort to understand and offer positive help and encouragement to players of all abilities
§ Open Registration - Our programs are open to all kids ages 6 through 14 who want to play flag football in a fun focused, organized league environment. Interest and enthusiasm are the only requirements for playing.
§ Good Sportsmanship – We create a positive environment based on mutual respect, rather than a win-at-all-cost attitude. All of our programs are designed to instill the values of good sportsmanship and teamwork.
§ Player Development - All players, regardless of ability, should be able to develop their athletic skills to the best of their abilities, both individually and as members of a team. . Players also learn skills and football values like responsibility and accountability that help them succeed on and off the field.
We strive to:
1. Make it fun
2. Limit standing around
3. Emphasize the fundamentals and Safety
4. Incorporate A Progression Of Skill Development
5. Always Be Encouraging
In addition to having great fun playing, kids are taught the fundamentals of the game, improve their athletic skills, stay active, and learn important life lessons and skills such as good sportsmanship and teamwork to help them succeed both on and off the field. Taking part in organized sports can help kids do better in school, have better interpersonal skills, be more team-oriented, healthier, and more confident and make smarter life choices.
